New Bowlers Course

This was the first year of formal coaching at PPBC after a break of more than five years. A brand new 6-week beginners course was written and based on similar courses run indoors at Whiteknights Indoor Bowling Club and other Outdoor clubs such as Wokingham, Woodley and Hurst.

Recruitment for the course was done solely by Kevin Terry and through the PPBC Taster Day.

Numbers were limited and approval from the management committee sought.

A total of 6 people attended and all 6 completed the 6-week course and joined the club as full members. Feedback was very positive.

Markers Course

This was a new course in 2023 to ‘coach’ tips and tricks in becoming a Good Marker. The course material was based on the Markers Course that is run by Keith Sawden and offered to all Outdoor Clubs in Berkshire. It is run pre-season at Whiteknights Indoor Bowls club. Several PPBC members had attended this course and thought it a good idea to offer something similar within the club.

Eight members attended the course and again feedback was very positive.
