2020 was an exceptional year as Covid -19 constraints meant that most of the normal competitions could not be held. However, a new annual competition named in honour of two  long term members,  Grace and Bernard Sparks, was introduced as an Open Singles Competition. In addition a new Palmer Park Open Pairs competition was inaugurated as a memorial to Eve Brown. The term ‘Open’ is used to underline that both female and male members of Palmer Park Bowling Club can enter and the draw is made without reference to gender or experience or the resulting combination in the case of pairs.
