Whether you want to introduce a friend to bowls, learn the basics yourself, improve on your current bowling ability and knowledge or are keen to get some advice on a problem you are struggling with, then why not have a word with the coaching team at the club. All coaching is free of charge and we are happy to arrange a mutually agreeable time to help you improve your bowling.
All coaching sessions will be tailored to your own individual requirements with the emphasis on having fun and improving your bowling. We have a qualified Level 1 Lawn Bowls coach and offer a friendly, flexible and relaxed approach to help you improve your bowls to the level that you want it to be at.
Please feel free to get in touch with any member of the committee or directly approach Gordon Munns if you wish to take advantage of coaching or simply want to learn a bit more about what there is on offer to help you improve.
Next time you are at the club for a roll-up why not take a look at the new coaching noticeboard and take advantage of the Practice Sheets designed for Purposeful Practice sessions. The exercise drills are divided into Line, Length and Weighted shots and are easy to follow. There are some suggestions on the noticeboard as to how to get the best out of these practice drills as well as the sheets themselves. The sheets are laminated and are intended to be taken outside to help you with your practice. Please use them and return to the folder after you have finished.
Depending on the uptake from coaching, and peoples interest, we also intend to offer a few club night sessions focusing on topics like reading the head, marking tips and tricks, etc so please keep a look out on the noticeboard for future events and suggest anything else you think would be helpful to others.
